JCS’ Lapciuc Dinner Blended Art & Appreciation
‘An Evening of Art Mazel,’ this year’s Lapciuc Appreciation Dinner thanking significant donors to Jewish Community Services’ Milk & Honey food distribution campaign, featured the artwork of noted painter and Holocaust survivor Thomas Muhl, great food and spectacular views at the home of Tania and Israel Lapciuc. Over 140 guests enjoyed a program that included remarks from University of Miami students Nicole Cassinera and Jennifer Bard, who participated in the Holocaust Survivors Internship Program. This initiative, which JCS conducts in collaboration with UM, provides valuable support to Jewish victims of Nazi atrocities and gives students an opportunity to perform service-oriented activities while making a personal connection with Holocaust survivors. As Nicole and Jennifer so eloquently stated, these relationships profoundly change the lives of both students and seniors.
