Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU Presents Purim Pairings 2017

Featuring celebrity chefs Allen Susser, Brad Kilgore, Aaron Brooks and Sam Gorenstein

The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU welcomed hundreds of guests to the annual Purim Pairings at Emanuel Luxury Venue South Beach, in the heart of the Art Deco District.

The celebrity chefs this year were: Brad Kilgore (Food & Wine’s “Best New Chef 2016” of Alter restaurant), Aaron Brooks (of Four Seasons EDGE Steak & Bar), and Sam Gorenstein (of My Ceviche). Each of these celebrity chefs created and prepared on-stage for the audience their unique course of an elegant four course, kosher meal. Each course was paired with a kosher wine from wine merchant Mike Bittel of Sunset Corners.

Purim Pairings was made possible through the generous sponsorships provided by the Applebaum Foundation, Elliot Stone and Bonnie Sokol Stone, and the Robert Arthur Segall Foundation, along with many others.

The museum’s Acting Executive Director, Susan Gladstone, introduced Chef Allen Susser and food editor Linda Gassenheimer (co-hosts of Purim Pairings). Guests included arts luminaries, community leaders and cultural influencers such as Elaine Bloom, Dan Gelber, Miguel Diaz de la Portilla, Richard Stone, Tibor Hollo, Danny and Merle Weiss, Jacob Solomon, and Ira Giller. Proceeds benefited the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU, part of Florida International University.
