Junior League’s Women Who Make A Difference

The Junior League of Miami hosted its 15th Annual Women Who Make a Difference Luncheon at the EPIC Hotel in Downtown Miami. With more than 200 VIP guests in attendance, the signature fundraising event benefitted the mission and community projects of the Junior League of Miami, focusing on women and children at risk. The lively affair, co-chaired by Rosemary Hartigan and Silvia Corral, honored women who have made a significant impact in the lives of women and children through their voluntarism. This year’s esteemed honorees were Betty Lopez-Castro, Meg Daly and Shannon Allen. Guests enjoyed an elegant lunch, a silent auction and raffle drawing and a special presentation of awards, emceed by Emmy nominated journalist and local news anchor Beatriz Canals-Alvarez. The Junior League of Miami also presented three scholarships to female high school seniors who have exhibited superior community service involvement during their high school careers.
