MCB Toasts Donors and the Outgoing 2014-15 Season
Miami City Ballet hosted a private dinner to toast the major philanthropic supporters who have played a pivotal role in the Company’s success this year, and beyond. Guests included Dr. Judith Rodin, President of the The Rockefeller Foundation; Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho; Armando and Margarita Codina; Ana and Robert Barlick; Chair of the MCB Board, Susan D. Kronick with Edward Shumsky; Title Sponsors of next year’s landmark ballet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Claudia and Steven Perles; MCB Founder, Toby Lerner Ansin; MCB Board Member Swanee DiMare; Victoria Rogers; Jamie Bennett, ArtPlace; Jessica Goldman-Srebnick and Scott Srebnick; Kinga Lampert and Alina Shriver; and Amy and Richard Kohan.
The intimate dinner was held in the Cejas Patron Salon, Knight Concert Hall where guests were able to meet and mingle with the hottest ballet choreographer working today, Justin Peck, whose world premiere for Miami City Ballet, Heatscape, was performed that evening to standing ovations. Miami City Ballet Executive Director Michael Scolamiero welcomed the guests, and Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez shared her heartfelt thanks and excitement, not only for that evening’s performance of Heatscape, but for the shining future of Miami City Ballet.
Following the dinner, guests were escorted to the Ziff Ballet Opera House for the opening night of Miami City Ballet’s final program of the season, Points of Departure. The night ended with standing ovations and cheers followed by a members-only reception to toast the thrilling dancing and look forward to the Company’s landmark 30th Anniversary Season next year.
