Rocco Donna’s Fourth Anniversary Bash
Rocco Donna Hair and Beauty Art celebrated its fourth anniversary at Miami’s ultra sleek new hotspot Karu & Y. Knowing this was a milestone not to be missed, celebrities such as Vanessa Hauc, Candela Ferro, Khotan, Cynthia Olavarria, Rodner Figueroa, Poncho De Anda, Ilia Calderon, Oscar Petit, Azucena Cierco, Laura Ferretti, Angelica Celaya, Javier Ceriani and Roxana Garcia among others attended the event.
Poland’s Select Vodka hosted the star-splashed evening and officially launched their delicious vodka. The hottest personalities paid homage to celebrity hair stylist Leonardo Rocco, who showcased his hair-art throughout the night. Models strutted the en-vogue fashions of new haute couture label La Carte Blanche.
Along with his artistic team at Rocco Donna Hair and Beauty Art, Leonardo Rocco presented his “Latin Touch” collection which included the latest avant-garde trends in hair-cuts, color and makeup.

Starfish Awards at The Setai
Benefiting Jackson Cancer Care
Jackson Cancer Care, an auxiliary group of Jackson Memorial Foundation, held the 2nd Annual Social Affairs Starfish Awards at The Setai. With a slight nip in the air, guests mingled in the chic outdoor lounge area while enjoying Oronoco Rum Mojito’s (garnished with starfish, of course).
Mistress of ceremonies, Laurie Jennings, was dressed in a stunning Angel Sanchez gown and presented Tiffany & Co. gifts to this year’s Starfish Award Recipients: Trish Bell, Marla Bergmann, Brenda Nestor Castellano, Sherry Fardie, Bill Jones, Mariana Martinez, Roe Stamps, Lydia Prio Touzet and Ana Moran Varela.
After the award ceremony, Neiman Marcus put on a fashion show that featured the Angel Sanchez Resort & Spring 2009 Collection that ended with a special appearance by the designer himself, Angel Sanchez. Also on hand were the The Jackson Cancer Care Board of Directors: host of the evening Norma A. Quintero (President), Nancy Batchelor (Vice President), Ana Moran Varela, Nancy Cole, Katharine Rubino and Diane de Olazarra. Funds raised at the Starfish Awards dinner benefit the Elizabeth and Mitchell Taylor Breast Cancer Health Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Amy Rosenberg’s October Arts Recap
October had its share of artistic, intellectual and gustatory pleasures and Amy Rosenberg was on the scene covering both the art and social scene that surrounds it. Amy is an attorney and arts and environmental advocate who founded the Arsht Center’s young patrons group and is the co-founder of the environmental non-profit organization Dream in Green. Amy is a member of Art Basel’s Junior Host Committee and sits on the boards of LegalArt, the Funding Arts Network, New World Symphony’s executive committee and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
