Miami City Ballet Hosts Nutcracker Magic Childrens Gala

MCB's Director of Development Eva Silverstein, Tina Carlo and Alexa Wolman

Miami City Ballet hosted its annual Nutcracker Magic Children’s Gala at the Four Seasons Grand Ballroom, presented by The B Carlin Foundation and Robert and Judy Breier, followed by a VIP performance experience of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.

Nutcracker Magic Co-Chairs Ana Codina Barlick and Tina Carlo created a spectacular holiday extravaganza inspired by the Land of the Sweets, brought to life with festive bubble gum colored trees, giant presents, artwork by great friend to MCB Lesli Brown and a magical life size Nutcracker Cake created by DBakers.

The children enjoyed dancing and divine desserts and went home with a Kendra Scott gift bag filled with goodies by Ali’s Sweet Treats, New Urban Farms and a glittering custom Nutcracker. After the performance, children had the opportunity to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and take a commemorative photo on stage with the Mouse King and Nutcracker Prince!

Magic sponsors included the Ansin family, Barlick family, Carlo family, Codina family, Udell Miller family and Schirripa family. Sugarplum sponsors included the Cisneros de Griffen family, Medina Family, Schnur & Gorordo family and Kaufman Lynn Construction.

Ana Codina Barlick, Tina Carlo, and MCB’s Director of Development Eva Silverstein made remarks thanking all the families who supported Nutcracker Magic 2016, Holland & Knight for being the DJ sponsor and Publix Charities for being the commemorative photo sponsor.

Proceeds from Nutcracker Magic directly benefit Miami City Ballet’s education and outreach programming serving thousands of local children and families each year.
