Miami Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

The Miami American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk was a great success! This noncompetitive, fundraising event united the community in celebrating breast cancer survivors, and educated men and women about the importance of early detection and prevention. The event raised more than $300,000, which will fund critical lifesaving research and support programs that will further the progress against this disease. More than 3,500 Miami residents, breast cancer survivors, business and community members joined together and put on their pink bras on October 9. Event Chairperson Claudia Puig said, “Each one of those pink bras was a beautifully decorated representation of a personal breast cancer journey. All of those pink bras together symbolized how our community has come together to take a stand against this disease.”
