Mozart Extravaganza!

Miami-Dade County Auditorium and Florida Chamber Orchestra, with Maestro Marlene Urbay, present “Mozart Extravaganza!” The orchestra concert takes place on Sunday, February 11 at 5:00 p.m. at Miami-Dade County Auditorium.
In a tribute to one of the most important composers in music history, the “Mozart Extravaganza!” will highlight some of the masterpieces by this musical genius in concert. This amazing prodigy, who started writing music at the age of four, left a legacy to the world, and even those who do not know much about the classical style would recognize his name as one of the most important composers from that era.
The concert features two great pianists, Leonel Morales, winner of many international competitions such as: First Prize in the Guerrero Foundation International Piano Competition (Madrid), First Prize at International Piano Competition “Teresa Carreño” of Venezuela, Second Prize at International Piano Competition “Cidade Do Porto” in Porto, Portugal, Prize with Distinzione in the Concorso Pianistico Internazionale Aosta, Italy, Prize to the Best Concert Soloist of Korea, Prize Sommerakademie Mozarteum of Salzburgo and many others, and his son Leo de Maria, who is building a solid and prestigious career, winner of First Prizes in the International Piano Competitions Ciudade de Ferrol (November, 2017. Spain), MozARTè (September, 2016, Germany), Grand Prix de Lyon (June, 2016, France), and the National Prize Cultura Viva 2018 to the Artistic Revelation. Leonel Morales and Leo de Maria will interpret Mozart piano concertos No. 12 in A Major K 415 and No. 13 in C Major K,415.
The special guest will be the famous soprano Eglise Gutierrez with a selection from different operas and an interpretation of the Overture related to the Opera by the masterful baton of Marlene Urbay with the Florida Chamber Orchestra.
Located at 2901 W. Flagler St. in the heart of Little Havana, MDCA combines internationally recognized organizations and local arts groups to produce and present accessible arts programing for children and adults in the surrounding communities. MDCA has been recognized for the breadth and depth of its Spanish and English programming, which includes theatre, dance, comedy, free children’s events, jazz, and classical music.
