National Philanthropy Day’s 20th Anniversary

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Miami is seeking honorees for 2015 National Philanthropy Day. Thursday, November 12, marks the 30th Anniversary for the National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon, which will be held at Jungle Island.

Nominations are still open for this year’s honorees – deadline is June 6. Award categories are: Outstanding Philanthropist Award; James W. McLamore Outstanding Volunteer Award; Julia Tuttle Award for Community Involvement & Corporate Citizenship; and Outstanding Grant Maker Award.

This is a wonderful opportunity to nominate an extraordinary individual, business or foundation whose leadership distinguishes them in the South Florida community.

Site Specific – Season Finale

The Miami Design District presented A World of Rhythm, an evening curated by The Rhythm Foundation and led by Afrobeta’s Cuci Amador to celebrate the season finale of the Site-Specific Performance Series. The night featured a variety of musical performances which connect to the strong cultural influences of South Florida.

Arsht Center’s Rock Odyssey

Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts recently presented its 100th performance of Rock Odyssey. For six years, Arsht Center invites every fifth grader in Miami-Dade County for a free presentation of this spectacular musical, a cornerstone of the Center’s Arts Education and Community Engagement program.
