Patricia Schnall Gutierrez and Bruve McQuiston Exhibition
D&G Art Design Gallery hosted a cocktail reception for Patricia Schnall Gutierrez’ “RAW,” curated by Luky Cancio, and Bruce McQuiston’s sculpted fine art. Patricia’s style has been described as abstracted narrative as this central biographical theme continues to materialize in a variety of treatments with the hollow garments and dresses, the wrapped and tied bundles, ropes, chairs and shadows all playing their part. McQuiston’s work combines organic forms with figurative reference and a contemporary flow. The pieces are constructed from hurricane salvaged lumber from the South Florida region. His recent Bronze and Aluminum castings utilize the wood pieces as the source for the mold making process. The works are generally human scale with very smooth surfaces that welcomes the viewer’s touch.
