Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida

Celebrates 35 Years Helping Families

Since 1982 Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida has been committed to serving the community, providing more than 30,000 families in Miami-Dade and Broward a home away from home as they tend seriously ill children being treated in local hospitals. The organization, its dedicated staff, volunteers and supporters appreciate the importance of keeping families close for serious moments and everyday experiences when they have a sick child.

Thanks to the community’s support of RMHC of South Florida, a well-rested mother can be at her son’s bedside to make informed decisions with his medical team; an older brother can help distract his sick sister with fun and play; a worried father can relax while telling his child a bedtime story. When a child must be hospitalized, it is moments like these that bring relief from the pain and reduce family stress.

Ronald McDonald House Charities is known for its houses – one in Miami-Dade and one in Broward, each close to hospitals that treat children with life-threatening illnesses. For entire families to be able to stay in these houses where they can be together, share home-cooked meals and be surrounded by RMHC staff and other families in the same position.

But RMHC does so much more within the South Florida community by also providing scholarships to deserving students as they pursue their educational goals. This year 21 students received financial assistance that will help them achieve their dreams.

As RMHC supports children and their families, the organization counts on the encouragement and help that the public gives to further its mission. From committed staff members and the local business community, to amazing volunteers and the medical community, the organization cherishes all who have devoted time and resources to improve and change children’s lives.

This year Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida celebrates 35 years of having its doors open to families in need. On October 21, 2017, friends and supporters of RMHC of South Florida, together with leaders in the business and philanthropic communities, will join forces to commemorate the 35th Anniversary Celebration with an evening of fine dining, signature cocktails, music, auction and entertainment.
