Saturday Sept 7: ArtsLaunch 2019
The city's arts celebration is packed with free performances, classes and activities.
ArtsLaunch 2019 – the performing arts celebration with a full schedule of free (yes free) performances, cultural experiences, workshops, and activities for kids – is coming next week on Saturday, September 7th. The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami Dade County, which presents the event, has announced that the programming schedule has grown to include cultural excursions to Little Haiti and Overtown and performances with Miami Symphony Orchestra.
Plus, Broadway in Miami invites Hamilton fans to Hamiltunes: An American Sing-Along. It’s an officially licensed sing-alongset to the award-winning soundtrack of Hamilton. The company will play the instrumentals to the award-winning soundtrack and project the lyrics while the community provide the voices. Costumes are encouraged, though no swords or dueling pistols, please.
Stroll through the Ziff Ballet Opera House stage, and find over 100 of Miami’s cultural organizations — including Actors’ Playhouse, Frost Museum of Science and Miami Book Fair — showcasing their arts offerings in an indoor street fair.
At the Carnival Studio Theater, you can go behind the scenes and take workshops from acclaimed arts companies including Florida Grand Opera, Miami City Ballet, New World Symphony, Zoetic Stage and City Theater. Dance classes at the Knight Concert Hall Stage – Hip Hop, Flamenco – are 45 minutes and taught by renowned instructors.
