Fresh from New York Fashion Week (and snow) SocialMiami contributor Stylist Elysze Held hit the ground running on her return from attending over 30 NYFW shows (stay tuned for her article on what to expect for Fall 2014) and set out to substantiate the smart, sophisticated, and polished style that is modern Miami (NOT tight dresses and gravity-defying shoes)!

An Unbreakable Bond Debuts at MIFF
An Unbreakable Bond, a film by Emilio Estefan documents the relationship between NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti, his son Marc and their nearly three decade struggle to find a cure for spinal cord injuries. The film will make its world debut at the 31st edition of Miami Film Festival (MIFF), produced and presented by Miami Dade College (MDC), on Tuesday, March 11th at 6:30 PM at the Olympia Theater at The Gusman Center for the Performing Arts.
Estefan, a 19-time Grammy award winning producer, directed and produced this documentary that archives the Buonicontis’ lives as they faced paralysis head on. From the beginning in 1985 when Marc was injured, the film follows their journey from the creation of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis through the present day as they stand at the forefront of paralysis research.

This week SOCIAL Manny ate like a king at SoBe Food Wine, enjoyed the performing arts at Arsht, and got fancy with the Vizcayans at their Preservation Luncheon. Featured events include Alvin Ailey luncheon at db Bistro, Flamenco Festival: Stars of Flamenco opening night at Arsht Center, SoBe Wine and Food Fest event at the St. Regis Bal Harbour, Vizcayan Preservation luncheon, plus Austin Mahone performing at the Fillmore Miami Beach, The Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan and Irene Korge at the Humane Society of Greater Miami, and Cecilia Chang and Javier Beney at the Metropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach hotel for the “Soul of a Banquet” post-screening.
