“You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it.” -Edith Head
I am often asked “what do you look for when you pick a look at a social event for your monthly column? The person? The designer? The event?
A no to all of the above.

I decided for this end of the year feature to focus on a few great looks…to share the photos of a few of my favorite looks. True style can be imitated of course, but never really copied. What is STYLE? The word itself is often overused but it”s still the only one that fits in this case-it is something more captivating than “BEST DRESSED” and something more enigmatic than the similarly global term “SO CHIC”.

Whether the event attendee was dressed to replicate the splendor of the 100th anniversary of Vizcaya; a “Come As You Art” ensemble at the Bass Ball; a quaint shade of pink at the WOT Rose luncheon; raising the bar for Art Basel fashion during Art Miami week, my Style Sightings picks worked for the person wearing them. Whether each piece was custom to the wearer, or couture from a major designer, a vintage stand-out, an eccentric piece- the outfits featured below represented a unique look.
Caught my eye.
That is style.
