As a stylist (before “photo shop”) I am often asked to participate in panel discussions regarding style…but what is it really? Style is so much more than getting dressed-perhaps it is about simply dressing well. On that note, dressing well is not just about having an “in wardrobe” -having “great style” is only about determining the variety of clothing you wear to show who you are. I began this column many many years ago, on the advice of a friend, when the conversation turned to a ‘hater’s’ critique that “women in Miami don’t have style..” My response??? No way…I will show you how much they have. It has been a blast for me to walk up to each and every one of you in my over 300 columns and ask you “who are you wearing”…I am often met with the response…oh, but this is only “Zara-OR H & M; or—“I have had it for years…”

AGAIN, Style is about Dressing who you are-And looking great in what you are wearing, whether it is a famous designer; vintage; contemporary collections; bespoke, or ‘disposable’ fashion.
The fact remains: whether rocking a fun, funky or absolute screaming high fashion look, the Miami woman has come into her own as a high priestess of chic- and interprets the trends in her own way!

In honor of “International Women’s Day, I thought I would feature just a few fabulous women (and an honorary male!) whom I had spotted rocking great looks this past month alone…at FEMALE CENTRIC Soirées: A cocktail reception at Riveria Country Club in honor of Judge Bronwyn Miller; Wine, Women and Shoes for the MCHF; BBBS Gala Honoring Edie Laquer; Iran Issa Khan’s Birthday Month Celebration; the Miami Symphony Orchestra’s salute to Zaha Hadid at The Moore Building.
