Temple Israel Of Greater Miami’s 90th Anniversary

More than 100 people turned out for a February 26th program, “An Ever-Changing Tapestry: Temple Israel and Miami Amid 90 Years of Dynamism,” as part of the Temple Israel of Greater Miami’s 90th-anniversary celebration series, this one looking at how The Magic City and its oldest Reform congregation evolved over the last century. Speakers for the event were Dr. Paul George, a history professor at Miami-Dade College, and Marcia Jo Zerivitz, Jewish Museum of Florida founding executive director. Serving as moderator was Norma A. Orovitz, elected in 1989 as the temple’s first female president. Former temple president Henry E. Wolff Jr. sponsored the program.
