The American Red Cross is preparing for one of Miami’s most prestigious fundraising events, the 2009 Red Cross Ball. Each year more than 500 influential leaders of Miami’s social and corporate communities gather for a night of elegance, exquisite food, elegant décor, music and dancing.

The Red Cross Ball was founded in 1982 by a group of prominent women to raise funds for the American Red Cross. Twenty-seven years later their tradition continues with a committee of more than 45 determined volunteers who work tirelessly toward fulfilling the mission of the American Red Cross, to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. This year the committee is chaired by Brenda Nestor Castellano, a passionate supporter of the American Red Cross.

Guests of the 2009 Red Cross Ball will have the opportunity to enter two fabulous prize drawings. The lucky winner of the first drawing will drive away in a new 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK 350 Cabriolet in their choice of color and leather interior. Tickets are $100 each, with only 1,500 available. The second drawing is a chance to win a 10 to 14 night European cruise aboard Azamara Cruises or a $5,000 Neiman Marcus shopping spree. Tickets are $25 each or five for $100. Drawing winners do not have to be present to win. Proceeds will benefit Emergency Services offered by the American Red Cross, which include local disaster response and community disaster preparedness education.
