Academy of Contemporary Art Inauguration
The Academy of Contemporary art had its inaugural event at Queen, announcing its plans to launch a top tier awards ceremony for the arts. As the Oscars are to Hollywood, this organization aims to find and recognize the best in the arts, not just artists but lighting designers, restoration professionals and curators, said Gregoire Vogelsang, Founder and Executive Producer of the Academy of Contemporary Art. The dinner was fit for the high-level art dealers, financiers and collectors in attendance and included caviar Nigiri, tuna with serrano and truffle aioli, beef tartare and ribeye filet, grilled branzino, a sushi course, Japanese risotto, and a never-ending flow of champagne.
“We witness the evolution of the contemporary art industry at unprecedented levels to become increasingly international and diverse,” said Vogelsang. The Academy of Contemporary Art’s inaugural event not only marks the formation of the institution but also reflects our dedication to recognizing and honoring both the artists and the professionals working behind the scenes in contemporary art around the world.”
Opening Reception for Craig Robins’ “A Train of Thoughts”
Miami Art Week began in the Miami Design District with the reveal of “A Train of Thoughts,” a new exhibition of works from the Craig Robins Collection. Art and design world luminaries, international tastemakers and notable guests joined Robins, Co-Founder of Design Miami/, at the Buick Building to celebrate. with guests including Gaetano Pesce, Gigi and Ronnie Vogel, Isabela Grutman, Javier Mora, Jeffrey Deitch, Marlon Robins, Nikolai Haas, Anna Williams, Alex Schapiro, Steven Gretenstein, JR, Karen Grimson, Connie Butler, Lara Bohinc, Mario Ayala, Matthew Chevallard, and Paola Alberdi.
