Dirty French Flaunts its Sweet Side
You know Dirty French – Major Food Group’s famous upscale steakhouse – for its prime cuts of meat and fresh seafood dusted with the savory spices of the French colonies of New Orleans, Tunisia and Morocco. But the restaurant has a very real sweet side and now that includes custom, made-to-order ice cream sundaes. Start with a cold creamy base of vanille, fraise or chocolat. The scoops arrive in a huge glass bowl on a cart carrying dozens of candy jars filled with toppings both classic and creative. You’ll recognize the rainbow sprinkles, the gummy frogs and the coconut flakes. But the experience is elevated with the likes of pralines, macarons, Ferrero Rochers and – do not miss this – homemade cookie dough. Top it with sales caramel, banana butterscotch sauce or chocolate. And of course, there’s a big bowl of fresh whipped cream to support the cherry on top.
