Um Frost School Of Music Welcomes Gerard Schwarz
The UM Frost School of Music has appointed Gerard Schwarz as Distinguished Professo of Music; Conducting and Orchestral Studies.r The announcement was made by Dean Shelton G. Berg. Schwarz will assume his position in the fall of 2019, and he will be a full-time member of the faculty as Professor of Practice in the Department of Instrumental Performance. Internationally recognized for his moving performances, innovative programming and extensive catalogue of recordings, Schwarz is Conductor Laureate of the Seattle Symphony, and Music Director of the All-Star Orchestra, Eastern Music Festival, the Mozart Orchestra of New York, and Conductor Emeritus of New York’s Mostly Mozart Festival.
