Welcome to Brett Graff as Editor-in-Chief

The long-time journalist and author is heading up editorial coverage for the outlet.

oday I have the great pleasure of announcing to you that Brett Graff will be overseeing SocialMiami.com as editor-in-chief. Many of you, I’ve discovered without great surprise, already know Brett from her contributions to both our website and to media outlets nationwide. Brett’s written for the likes of Glamour, Maxim, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. She worked as a Reuters correspondent and her column in The Miami Herald was syndicated by the Tribune Content Agency. A former U.S. government economist, Brett authored the book, Not Buying It: Stop Overspending and Start Raising Happier, Healthier, More Successful Kids. She’s a fixture on morning television programs, making frequent appearances on major network affiliates across the country including CBS, NBC, ABC, CW and CNN. And she’s got two weekly broadcasts on iHeartRadio.

Brett’s got the media chops but she’s also got a solid understanding of Miami’s rich and textured community. She’s covered, over the years, most business reporting beats, meaning she’s fluent in the world of Miami real estate, law, banking, dining and, of course, philanthropy. She’s tackled her position here at SocialMiami head on and has already reached out to many of you. If you haven’t heard from her yet, give her just a moment or call her first, she’d love to hear from you at her new email address,at brett@socialmiami.com

Together, we have a lot planned for you. Perhaps you’ve already seen our new logo and it will be a few short months before we unveil our new modernized site. Our coverage under Brett’s direction will continue to include the outstanding work done by those of you so committed to improving the lives here Miami and well beyond our borders. Together with showcasing philanthropic events and the people who make them successful, we are also going to look at culture, art, fashion and most importantly, people in a whole new way. Do you have ideas? Send them to us now, please, because we’re interested. And of course, check in with us whenever you find the time.

Thanks and welcome to the 19th year of SocialMiami.com,

Melanie Cohen, founder
