FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine Engages and Educates with Panel Discussion

The FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine hosted a lunch and panel discussion at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables to educate and engage women about timely issues related to women’s health. The diverse panel of specialists addressed the latest findings from a wide range of medical fields including cardiology, dermatology, oncology, gynecology, gastroenterology and physical therapy.

Approximately 250 guests attended the luncheon to learn insights from noted panelists Pamela Downey, P.T. (physical therapy); Pamela Garjian, M.D. (gastroenterology); Yvonne Johnson, M.D. (cardiology); Joely Kaufman, M.D. (dermatology); and Luis Mendez, M.D. (gynecology and oncology). Risa Berrin, Executive Director of Health Information Project, moderated the panel discussion.

“The women’s health luncheon is part of the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine’s ongoing commitment to elevating community-wide awareness of important health issues and empowering the public with access to the necessary information and resources to produce a healthier community,” said John A. Rock, MD, Founding Dean and Senior Vice President for Health Affairs at FIU HWCOM.
