Young Patronesses of the Opera thanked the sponsors of their upcoming gala at a lively cocktail party on Sunday October 27 at The Old River House restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. YPO’s 2019 gala “An Evening Where No One Sleeps” will be held next Saturday, November 2 at the Four Seasons Miami. James Campbell, owner of The Old River House, graciously hosted the Benefactor Party which was organized by YPO members Victoria Shorten Randolph and Audrey Warren. In January, the same YPO sponsors and benefactors, are invited to a Chinese New Year four-course meal on Anticipation Yacht Charters, also owned by Campbell. YPO President Marianne Kircher thanked the guests who included Diana Orea of Fidelity Investments, one of the corporate sponsors of the upcoming gala. In a nod to the theme of the gala, hors d’oeuvres included sushi and spring rolls and the dance troupe Puccini’s Muses & Dreams, performed to traditional Chinese music. “An Evening Where No One Sleeps” takes its title from one of the most famous arias of all time “Nessun Dorma” from the opera Turandot by Giacomo Puccini, which is set in ancient China. Proceeds from the black tie gala benefit YPO’s music education programs. Tickets start at $400 and are available at www.YPO-Miami.org/gala.
