Maria Carolina Melo is a Miami woman with tons of style. A graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, Melo is a businesswoman with a philanthropic heart. A native of Brazil, Melo works extensively with the Brazilian Foundation and has taken a leadership role in the organization’s last two Miami galas.

On the fashion front, Melo loves prints and makes bold fashion choices that are fun. Having worked in the fashion industry, Melo admits that she is willing to suffer for beauty and understand that fashion need not be comfortable.

For accessories, Melo has an eye for vintage and enjoy wearing big, chunky jewelry and bold statement pieces. She often attends vintage markets and fairs in search of exclusive pieces.

30th Anniversary Kick Off

On Friday, February 8, Miami International Film Festival (MIFF), produced and presented by Miami Dade College, will highlight its 30th anniversary celebrations with a “cast reunion” and screening of a film from 1995’s festival, Miami Rhapsody, directed by David Frankel, as part of MIFF’s month-long Countdown Retrospective series.

Special guests include cast members Sarah Jessica Parker, Jeremy Piven and Carla Gugino, who will join Director David Frankel for the evening, which will begin with a 35mm screening of Miami Rhapsody at 7 p.m. After the screening, the “Cast Reunion” will continue with a party at The Coral Gables Country Club at 9 p.m.

NYE Party with Wolfingtons, Bryans & Condes

A group of friends hosted a New Year’s Eve party together on Palm Island, which included Sean and Ana Wolfington (Owners of the Wolfington Companies), Bob and Michelle Bryan (Bob Bryan is an Olympic gold medalist and part of the #1 doubles tennis team in the world), and Cesar and Pamela Conde (Cesar is the president of Univision and Pamela is an awarding winning journalist and co-anchor of Primer Impacto).
