Association of Fundraising Professionals Miami - Announces Honorees
In 1985, AFP Miami initiated the first National Philanthropy Day awards event. Today, National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is celebrated across North America and around the world. AFP Miami continues its tradition of honoring the local philanthropic community at the annual National Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon, which will take place on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
This special day is set aside to pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy-and the people active in Miami’s philanthropic community-have made to our lives, our local community and our world.
SOCIALEYES: Unscripted Bal Harbour
Two events were hosted in the Bal Harbour Shops in celebration of Unscripted Bal Harbour’s second iteration “Self Portrait as a Barefoot Mailman,” by artist Christy Gast.
The first, at Books & Books Bal Harbour, was an Unscripted Bal Harbour Art Chat, Christy Gast in conversation with Thom Collins, Director of the Miami Art Museum. Christy and Thom spoke about her public art installation, her performative practice and the support of public art by artists living and working in Miami.
The second, sponsored by Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour, Suntrust Bank, and Bal Harbour Magazine, was an Intimate lunch with Christy Gast at Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour. Christy and Unscripted Bal Harbour Curator Claire Breukel gave a behind-the-scenes look at the nomination, selection, and creation of the installation.
