Fairchild’s 9th Annual Splendor in the Garden
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden honored leading members of the community
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, the historic botanical garden that is one of the premier conservation and education-based gardens in the world, celebrated its 9th annual Splendor in the Garden on Thursday, January 23, 2020. The event was presented by Ussery Automotive Group/Mercedes-Benz and Neiman Marcus Coral Gables who showcased their new spring clothing collections to more than 350 guests.
Leading members of the South Florida community were honored at Splendor in the Garden, which featured a champagne reception, catered luncheon by La Basque, fashion shows and awards ceremony. All proceeds from the event benefit Fairchild Garden’s numerous programs in conservation, science, children’s education and horticulture.
This year’s 2020 Fairchild Philanthropy Honorees were Jennifer Montoya, Eilah Campbell Beavers, Karyn Cunningham, Andria Hanley, Lucy Morillo, Angie Whitman and Maria Del Carmen Sarria. Guests were invited to enjoy a lovely outdoor cocktail reception before walking into the lakeside marquee, where Fairchild Gardens Chief Operating Officer Nannette Zapata welcomed them and introduced honorary Co-Chairs Swanee DiMare and Frances Sevilla-Sacasa before the luncheon and highly anticipated Neiman Marcus Coral Gables fashion show commenced.
Notable guests included six-time Emmy award-winning TV news reporter and anchor, Laurie Jennings and The Patton Group’s owner, Marysol Patton.
