John Kanas’ Million Dollar Gift to United Way
United Way of Miami Dade has been presented with a $1 million donation from the John and Elaine Kanas Family Foundation. This gift represents the single largest individual unrestricted gift to the 2010 campaign, which will directly impact United Way’s work to advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all Miami-Dade residents. The gift will be recognized at a reception with United Way board members and key supporters.

12 Good Men Cocktail Reception
Northern Trust hosted a reception in honor of Ronald McDonald’s House Charities’ Twelve Good Men 2011. Attending were not only this year’s honorees but several distinguished men who have been honored in previous years. Northern Trust president Edward J. Joyce, a previous honoree, welcomed the guests and spoke about the importance of giving back to the community. Alex Rodriguez, RMHC president, introduced the 2011 Twelve Good Men Luncheon chairs: Linda Levy Goldberg, Julie Todaro and James “Jim” Murphy. The luncheon is set for Tuesday, March 8, at the Treetop Ballroom of Parrot Jungle Island.
