Fashion Faves: Norma Jean Abraham

Norma Jean Goes Royal with her Purple Look

Norma Jean Abraham is a Miami superstar and was kind enough to join SocialMiami at Ornare – the Brazilian closet manufacturer in the Miami Design District – for an exclusive Fashion Faves taping event done in conjunction with Plaza Health Network, an organization that honored Norma Jean at their most recent luncheon.

To say that Norma Jean likes the color purple is an understatement. One may find this social luminary in a purple hat with a purple shirt and purple fur. She even combs her hair with a purple comb. It’s a royal look and Norma Jean pulls it off with her own unique style and a vast array of accessories.

MOCA’s Any Ever Opening

Ryan Trecartin’s Any Ever (2009-2010) opened at the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami. Attendees viewed his seven-movie epic video produced in Miami with collaborator Lizzie Fitch and other contributors ranging from friends and artists to professional child actors.

The presentation of Any Ever at MOCA is the first time the work is shown in its entirety in Miami, the city that was not only the setting for the movies and inspiration for some of their content, but also a character within the works. For the exhibition, MOCA’s galleries are transformed into spaces that are quasi-recognizable as particular public and private settings, anchored by key seating elements.

Following the opening reception, MOCA hosted an after party at The Standard on Miami Beach that featured a conceptual performance by artists Raul de Nieves and Colin Self.
