Social Snapshot: Leila Centner
Miami philanthropist and tech executive Leila Centner is preparing to open Centner Academy in the upcoming 2019-20 school year. The Design District private school will serve children from ages two-and-a-half to nine years old, emphasizing in the curriculum character development, leadership, mindfulness, and language mastery. Classes will be delivered in Mandarin, Spanish and English. That’s not all keeping this mother-of-two busy – since selling her and her husband’s, David Centner, tech company to a private equity firm and arriving in Miami two years ago, she’s been immersed in many non-profit endeavors. Slated to receive award from Lotus Village in April and busy overseeing a $40 million investment into the local “Teachers Village Opportunity Zone Fund,” we just had to ask Centner a few behind-the-scenes questions.
