Arsht Center Hosts Spectacular Event to Reveal its 2017-2018 Broadway in Miami Season
The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, along with partners at Broadway Across America, announced its 12th season of showcasing Broadway’s greatest hits with a five-show season power-packed with musical blockbusters.
Last month, close to 1,000 Broadway in Miami subscribers, Arsht Center Culturist members and VIPs attended the exclusive announcement event held inside the Center’s John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall. Hosted by Broadway Across America’s Bob Bucci, the event revealed the shows included in the upcoming 2017-2018 Broadway in Miami season along with performances, and special guests Emilio and Gloria Estefan.
The 2017-2018 Broadway in Miami season includes two anticipated South Florida premieres – the Estefan’s ON YOUR FEET! (October 5 – 15, 2017), kicking off its first national tour at the Arsht Center, and THE BODYGUARD (April 3 – 8, 2018) starring Deborah Cox. The season also includes FINDING NEVERLAND (December 26 – 31, 2017), THE COLOR PURPLE (February 27 – March 4, 2018) and CHICAGO (May 8 – 13, 2018). Plus, back by popular demand, THE BOOK OF MORMON (November 28 – December 3, 2017) returns to the Arsht Center as a season option.
Emilio and Gloria Estefan made the exciting announcement live onstage followed by a high-energy, sneak preview performance of On Your Feet!, which is filled with beloved hits such as “Conga,” “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” and, of course, “Get On Your Feet.”
