Gratitude was in abundance at Baptist Health Foundation’s “Annual Celebration of Generosity” February 22. Held at the stylish Coral Gables Country Club, the event honored more than 300 of the healthcare organization’s most generous supporters who have contributed from $10,000 to more than $5 million to help the not-for-profit Baptist Health South Florida continue to provide exceptional, compassionate care to the community.

Baptist Health Foundation CEO Bill Banchs opened the program with special recognition of philanthropists who have donated from $1 million to more than $5 million to the organization. Helen and Jacob Shaham and family were recognized as new members of the Foundation’s “Chairman’s Circle,” honoring philanthropists whose cumulative giving exceeds $5 million.

The new members of the Foundation’s “President’s Circle,” which acknowledges donors whose cumulative giving has reached between $1 million to $5 million, were Gilead Sciences, Kidz Medical Services, the William H. and Leonora K. Hegamyer Family Foundation, the John and Margaret Krupa Foundation, and the Harry T. Mangurian, Jr., Foundation.

Following the special recognition, Baptist Health President & CEO Brian E. Keeley introduced several of the healthcare system’s seniormost leaders, who joined Keeley in a toast to the generous donors.

“As the healthcare industry continues to grapple with a host of challenges – including shrinking margins and lower reimbursements – your generosity is making an increasingly important difference at Baptist Health, and in the lives of those who matter most: Our patients,” said Keeley.

The entire space conveyed an atmosphere of warmth, with elegant flowers, votive candles and remote phone chargers whose digital displays featured words of thanks. The room also was surrounding by banners with quotes from generous donors expressing what inspired them to support Baptist Health.

Sponsoring the event were Brandes Investment Partners, Energy Opportunities Capital Management, Envision Physician Services, GPB Capital Holdings and Sage Advisory Services.
