Community Partnership for Homeless Celebrates Ninth Annual Gala
Roughly 350 guests celebrated the ninth annual Gala of Community Partnership for Homeless (CPH), Miami’s national model for effectiveness in support of the homeless. The ballroom at the JW Marriot Marque in downtown Miami was magnificently decorated by gala chairs Swanee and Paul DiMare and Alison and Darryl Robinson.
Laurie Jennings served as the Mistress of Ceremonies and opened the evening by inviting CPH board chairman Trish Bell to the podium. Trish welcomed everyone to the event and encouraged them all to listen to the success story of Antonio Dixon, a former resident who now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The evening also included the presentation of the Alvah H. Chapman, Jr. “Humanitarian Award” to Rabbi Solomon Schiff, who was not present because of his recognition of the Sabbath. Ron Book accepted the award on his behalf. Also acknowledged was The Batchelor Foundation as “Angel to the Homeless.”
This year’s sponsors included Publix Super Markets Charities, Armando Codina, Trish and Dan Bell, Carnival, Betty Chapman, Penny and Roe Stamps, Kirk Landon and Pamela Garrison and Multivision Video/Film.
