CORNERSTONE EVENT 2004 Federation Opening Dinner raises more than $800,000

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s 2004 Campaign Opening Dinner – The Cornerstone Event, drew more than 1,100 Jewish community leaders to the Fontainebleau Hilton Hotel January 15 and raised more than $800,000. The event helped launch the 2004 Federation/UJA Campaign, which provides a vital lifeline of services to people in Miami, in Israel and in 60 countries around the world. The dinner was chaired by Isaac K. “Ike” Fisher, with Clarita Kassin, Wendy Koenigsberg, David Scharlin and Gary Yarus serving as Vice Chairs. Ari Fleischer, the former White House Press Secretary, was the keynote speaker, and Sen. Bob Graham was honored with the Federation’s Friend of Israel Humanitarian Award, in recognition of his many years of outstanding friendship and support for the Jewish people in Miami and in Israel.
