CORNERSTONE EVENT 2005: GREATER MIAMI JEWISH FEDERATION OPENING DINNER RAISES MORE THAN $600,000

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s 2005 Campaign Opening Dinner – The Cornerstone Event, drew nearly 800 Jewish community leaders to the Fontainebleau Hilton Hotel recently and raised more than $600,000. The event helped launch the 2005 Federation/UJA Campaign, which provides a vital lifeline of social services to people in Miami, in Israel and in 60 countries around the world. The dinner was chaired by David M. Scharlin, with Matthew L. Adler, Gil J. Bonwitt, Adrian Dubow, Andrew Fiske, Steven Messing and Monica Sasson serving as Vice Chairs. The keynote address was given by the Honorable Richard Gephardt. The retired Democratic Congressman has been a trusted friend of the State of Israel who has steadfastly supported U.S. foreign aid to Israel, and has consistently been an advocate for peace and security in the Middle East.
