FGO’s “A Night in Mantua, 2022”
Guests were transported to 16th century Mantua, Italy immediately following the company’s production of Rigoletto.
Florida Grand Opera celebrated its 80th season anniversary with its A Night in Mantua Gala at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. The Chairwomen’s Gala Committee included Tina Vidal Duart, Robin Loof, Linda Balent, Susan Medina, Claire Fair and Leatrice Damus. Attendees were transported to 16th century Mantua, Italy immediately following the company’s production of Rigoletto. The fictitious Duke of Mantua from Rigoletto invited participants to a late evening’s entertainment with sustenance, libations and affable friends to encourage a rhapsodic ending to the evening. During cocktail hour in the Peacock Foundation Studio, the company hosted two raffles consisting of a 50-year old rare tawny port donated by Penfolds and a 2.1 carat cushion cut earth diamond donated by Chang and Salah Turkmani. As the night went on, guests had the opportunity to take pictures on the set of Rigoletto before enjoying a dinner by Constellation Culinary and dancing to the music of the Kate Delaney Band. Wine pairings with dinner were curated and provided by Penfolds with spirits donated by Bacardi.
