Girls on Rolls: Ana VeigaMilton

The president of the José Milton Foundation and the Ana & Cecil Milton Foundation speaks to us in her own words.

Ana VeigaMilton directs corporate social responsiblity for United Property Management, owners and managers of almost 9000 residential units in Florida. She also presides over the José Milton Foundation, which strives to close the opportunity gap in South Florida, primarily through access to quality healthcare, education and research. In addition, VeigaMilton cofounded the Cecil & Ana Milton Family Foundation, which supports conservation efforts and programs that serve our milatary and first responders. VeigaMilton holds leadership positions on various philantrhopic boards, including Jackson Health Foundation, Red Cross Miami, UM Citizens Boards, Zoo Miami Foundaiton and United Way Miami.

As an engineering and law alumna, VeigaMilton says she’s proud and honored to serve as a University of Miami Trustee and Academic Affiars Committee Chair, working to accelerate UM’s impressieve upward trajectory. She also says she’s passionate about encouraging women and minorities to enter STEM fields and exposing students to STEM activities and careers. As a recipient of donor largesse in the form of a full merit scholarship to UM, VeigaMilton believes in the power of philanthropy to change lives and promote community.  VeigaMilton and her family are wildely recognized for the impact of their philanthropy, community engagement and volunteerism.

In 2021, the community celebrated the operning of the José Milton Memorial Hospital at Jackson West in Doral, the Foundation’s most significant investment thus far. In 2022, responding to the need for talent to power the Miami Tech Momvement, VeigaMilton funded the José Milton Foundaiton Digital Technology Initiative, which includes endowments for a Lecture Series, fellowships, and an accelerated software engineering degree at UM’s College of Engineering. In celebration of her daugher’s Miami Law School graduation, the foundation endowed the Ana VeigaMilton & Diana Milton Tech Law Scholarship at Miami Law School.
