Give Miami Day 2023 will stand as Miami’s boldest day of giving in the community’s history with $34.1 million raised, thanks to more than 96,000 donations, making this year its biggest and boldest effort to date.  Event host, The Miami Foundation, one of the largest philanthropic institutions in South Florida, welcomed the final numbers at midnight Thursday, in a show of support that reinforces Give Miami Day as one of the fastest-growing, online charitable giving programs in the U.S. The 12th annual event surpassed last year’s fundraising finish by $2M, and increased unique donations by almost 15,000. The result is funding and support for 1,176 registered organizations.

“Give Miami Day 2023 was an exceptional day with 46,619 people stepping up to say they care about Miami so much that they were willing to share a part of their own treasure for the greater good,” said Miami Foundation, board chair, Sheldon Anderson, CEO of Grove Bank and Trust.  “Each and every donor has just empowered community nonprofits, plus their employees, to move boldly into the next year fueled to face whatever the year ahead brings. The success of Give Miami Day is a testament to Rebecca Fishman Lipsey’s bold leadership and The Miami Foundation’s staff who are steadfast in their commitment and enthusiasm for its mission.”

Big or small, new or established, on this day, they all come together to increase generosity in Greater Miami through one simple, easy-to-use online giving platform at www.givemiamiday.org.

“We set ambitious goals, and we’re so thankful to see that Miami stood together and gave like never before,” said Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, president and CEO of The Miami Foundation. “Nonprofits work so hard to keep this community strong for everybody and they deserve to feel the surround sound of support.  I am so proud to be able to look them in the eyes and say we’ve got your back, this year and every year to come!”
