Sitting Room - The Sun Also Rises
Designer Statement: “Boys will be Boys masculine glamour of a bygone era. Our design is a tribute to the maverick man of the Hollywood Classic era. The adventurer, the rebel, and renegade but with the polish of a smoking jacket and a whiskey. We will be creating a masculine room with far flung ethnic influences that reflect the adventurer’s collection and his supposed home life.”
Bio: James J. Wall has over 10 years experience in architecture and interior design and has drawn his inspiration from an unusual childhood of sailing around the world with his family. Growing up in over fifty different countries honed his eye and stimulated his taste for a style ranging from traditional to ultra minilisim. A graduate from the Dept. of Architecture and Design at RISD, James additionally received training in sculpture from the Ecole De Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Royal Danish Academy of Architecture in Copenhagen. His company, Thirlwall LLc, has been based in Miami Beach for 5 years and his work can be seen from historical renovations of Art Deco buildings such as The Webster to Miami’s most modern residential towers to high-end homes in Palm Beach and commercial work in Manhattan. Thirlwall is a multidisciplinary design firm offering architectural, interior, and landscape design services.
