The environmental club started by fifth-grader Daelyn Einhorn has been adopted by the Biscayne Nature Center as a formal program now called, “The Biscayne Nature Center Junior Naturalist Earth Keepers Club.” To celebrate the upcoming year of interactive science programming, the club held a Kick Off Party that included a screening of the movie Turtle: The Incredible Journey and a tour of the nature center’s hands-on resources including its Touch Tank filled with local sea life that the kids and their parents could pick up and and examine. Daelyn Einhorn, in addition to being the club president, has been named the Biscayne Nature Center’s first Jr. Spokesperson and will in that position serve to echo the conservation ideals hailed by the late Biscayne Nature Center founder, Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
