Kirk Jewelers and the Newbauer family hosted a gala event to celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of their new location at 142 East Flagler Street. The new European-style boutique showcases fine timepieces from Patek Philippe, Rolex and Tag Heuer, as well as exquisite gold, diamond and precious stone jewelry, including the Chimento line which was presented in an exclusive trunk show. On hand to commemorate the occasion were City Commissioner Marc Sarnoff and his wife Teresa, sipping champagne as a Proclamation from the City of Miami, signed by Mayor Regalado, was read. Three generations of the Newbauer family – June, Julian and Alisa, Jeff and Malena, and Allison Newbauer Strongin – stood by as the family’s 64 years of dedication to Downtown Miami was cited in the city’s proclamation. Long-standing and new customers joined designer Dawn Causa and architect Ira Giller to admire the beautifully appointed new store. It was truly a night to be remembered, especially by Pedro Mendieta, who won a Tag Heuer Formula One Watch, and Mattie Chusid, who won a pair of gold earrings from the jewelry collection of designer Raymond Hak!
