UBS and Best Buddies International will bring together the finest Spain has to offer in food, music and festivities for the Twelfth Annual Miami Gala: La Fiesta Española on Watson Island. His Excellency Jorge Dezcallar de Mazarredo, Ambassador of Spain to the United States of America, and Rafael Nadal, the number one-ranked tennis player in the world, will serve as Honorary Chairs for the Gala, which features a formal dinner, live and silent auctions, and a concert by Earth, Wind and Fire.
Selecta Magazine Presents “Jueves Selecto”
Benefiting the Hope & Dreams Foundation
Selecta Magazine presented its signature social gathering, “Jueves Selecto”, a glamorous luncheon and fashion show benefiting The Hope & Dreams Foundation, a non-profit organization spearheaded by Nora Bulnes, Selecta Magazine’s Publisher, to serve South Florida’s communities in need. The glamorous affair took place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Key Biscayne were over 500 elite society women gathered to enjoy the event. The luncheon included a dynamic fashion show featuring the Lismarie Collection, a creation of Dominican designers Lisbeth Hazoury and Marielena Chotín.
Hope & Dreams Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization established more than 10 years ago by Mrs. Bulnes to serve South Florida’s communities in need, especially during the Holiday season. Hope & Dreams is currently working with more than 30 community agencies, each of them safeguarding over 300 families in need, which benefit yearly from our collaboration. Some of its contributions consist on delivering food baskets and turkeys just in time for Thanksgiving to needy families and distributing toys to children during the holiday season, as well as helping the sick and satisfying other necessities within the community. Hope and Dreams’ main objective is to bring hope to the community as well as make dreams come true for those that are less fortunate and need a lending hand.

Daniela Swaebe Transforms Old Into New
The concept for the beautiful bracelet shown at right began as a re-purposing by Daniela Swaebe, who wanted to do something nice for her best friend, publicist Amy Zakarin.
Amy had seen Daniela’s fleur de lis bead bracelets and wanted something similar. She had an old diamond brooch that had belonged to her great grandmother, so she and Daniela decided to re-purpose the sentimental piece.
