Leta Foster and India Foster
Master Bedroom - Some Like It Hot!
Designer Statement: “I used to come down to Miami for vacations with my grandparents in the winter, so I chose Some Like It Hot because I can’t help being inspired by the city I knew as a girl. I naturally like think of Miami in the 40s, where the end of the film was set, when the city had its heyday, when cool breezes rustled through the palms, when classic Cadillacs and Packards cruised down A-1-A along the beach, when all the art deco buildings were sparkling and new, when the famous nightclubs were filled with dancing, joyous people. So I worked out a scheme incorporating the design and architectural styles Miami was famous for, when the city was still raffiné. I used a used cool navy blue and white print of a tropical scene from China Seas and old rattan furniture to hark back those golden days in Miami.”
