MOCA Mystery Dates Pre-Event Party

Club 50 at Viceroy Miami

Anticipation is growing for the Museum of Contemporary Art’s annual Mystery Dates fundraiser to be held Saturday, November 7. During this surprise-filled evening, some of Miami’s most inspired hosts open their homes for a memorable night of art, design, delicious food and new friends.

The “mystery” is which glamorous dinner party guests will attend as locations will only be revealed during a cocktail reception that evening. The Mystery Dates fundraiser is organized by the MOCA Shakers, the museum’s young international patrons group, and proceeds benefit MOCA exhibitions of emerging and experimental artists.

Tickets to Mystery Dates 2009 are $175, ($125 for MOCA Shaker members) and are limited. A Mystery Dates kick-off party will be held on Thursday, September 3 at Club 50 at Viceroy Miami, 485 Brickell Avenue. As part of the Viceroy’s “Happy Hour for a Cause” from 6 to 10 p.m., cocktails courtesy of GREY GOOSE Vodka and hors d’oeuvres will be served from 7 to 9 p.m. and live music will be played. Partygoers will have the chance to purchase a limited number of reduced priced tickets that evening in packages of 10 for $1,000. Also for sale will be the opportunity to “demystify” the evening by pre-selecting a dinner location of choice for an additional $100 per ticket.

On the big night of November 7, Mystery Dates begins with a festive party at Museo Vault, a state-of-the-art storage facility in Wynwood, which will contribute to the mystery and suspense. While enjoying specialty cocktails by GREY GOOSE Vodka, music and hors d’oeuvres, guests will learn which surprise dinner they will attend. The locations vary from a loft in Wynwood, to a post modern home in Coral Gables, a waterfront residence in Key Biscayne to a South Beach condominium with stunning skyline views. At each elegant dinner, guests will be treated to tours of the hosts’ private collection, highlighting how they live with art. The evening will conclude with a late-night party in South Beach.

Mystery Dates 2009 is chaired by Ivonne Ronderos and Erin Newberg. Partial support for Mystery Dates 2009 has been provided by Cole Haan, Museo Vault and cocktails will be provided by GREY GOOSE Vodka.
