THE GREAT GATSBY NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY

New Year’s Eve from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

During this roaring 1920s era celebration at the legendary Turnberry Isle Miami, delight in a lavish reception featuring prohibition cocktails and caviar bar with iced vodka pairings. A four-course gourmet dinner follows with dancing to a nine-piece band. TWO PARTIES AT THE RUSTY PELICAN

New Year’s Eve
Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the New Rusty Pelican Waterfront Restaurant with spectacular views of the Miami skyline and two parties for you to choose from to ring in the New Year. Upstairs the Masquerade Gala will be in full swing, beginning at 9 p.m., featuring celebrity appearances, live entertainment, a buffet of tempting cuisine and an open premium bar. Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2014 at Celebrity Chef Michael Mina’s famed Bourbon Steak Restaurant. First-seating begins at 6 p.m. and features three courses including a selection between local heirloom tomatoes, ahi tuna tartare, hay smoked duck “shabu shabu,” or veal sweetbreads to start; a main course selection of crispy skin striped bass, Maine sea scallops, organic chicken breast or American Wagyu filet “Rossini” with a shallot potato cake and Hudson Valley foie gras; and concludes with a choice of dark chocolate gâteau, traditional beignets or artisanal cheese duo. The second-seating starts at 8:30 p.m. and features a six-course menu showcasing Michael Mina’s classic American caviar parfait to start, trio of Spanish octopus, hay smoked duck “shabu shabu,” Maine lobster and black trumpet mushroom ravioli, American Wagyu filet “wellington” and dark chocolate gâteau. The Catalina Hotel & Beach Club has teamed up with Miami nightlife legend Gerry Kelly to present a Brazilian Carnival themed party to help ring in 2014. This year’s celebrity host will be British actress Jessica Clark, known best for her role as sexy vampire Lilith in the HBO phenomenon True Blood. Clark will be joined by local sensations, The Spam All Stars, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., who will be posted up on the main stage right outside The Catalina Hotel’s main lobby. The Spam All Stars are known for always keeping partygoers dancing the night away at the annual NYE party with an array of hits ranging from every genre from Funk to Hip-Hop to Latin & Oldies. Comedian/singer Sal Richards will headline the New Year’s Eve festivities at The Rrazz Room at Coral Springs Museum of Art with special guests Guy Richards and Jerry Cardone.
