Linda Huffman Kearns, Honorary Chairman, Jackson Memorial Foundation Golden Angels Gala 2008 and Rene Ruiz, Luncheon Host
Rene Ruiz, celebrated designer, held a luncheon at his fabulous Coral Gables boutique, to honor Linda Huffman Kearns, who is Honorary Chairman of Jackson Memorial Foundation Golden Angels Gala 2008. Linda, who is a Golden Angel, was introduced to Jackson through her sister Sherie Swerdlow, also a Golden Angel and co-chair of the Gala. The Golden Angel Society is a recognition society of the Jackson Memorial Foundation. Linda witnessed first hand the exemplary care at Jackson when Sherie’s son required treatment after an accident while on a family vacation. The only consideration for treatment was the Burn Unit at Ryder Trauma Center. Since then many of Linda’s family members have been treated at Jackson, and she has been equally impressed.

More than 60 women attended the luncheon and browsed the racks of the gorgeous daytime and evening fashions displayed at the salon. Rene generously donated 10% of all purchases that day to Jackson Memorial Foundation—and many of the women left with new and exciting frocks. In a surprise move, Rene also offered a $50 raffle for a $1,000 credit at this boutique. The winner: Funnily–Linda Huffman Kearns.

Among the women attending the luncheon were: Marilyn Samlut, Patricia Nicolas Nader, Sherie Swerdlow, Rosy Cancela, Mari Alacon, Marisa Cisneros Rizzon, Marlen Pernetti, Sam Robin, Leslie Wolfson, Rosy Cancela, Tati Katz, Jan Lewis, Beki Stanford, Dr. Dollie Green, Julie Dill, Yolanda Berkowitz, Haley Denman, Jill Swerdlow, Amy Galagano, Felicia Hernandez and Brianna Corrado.
