Linda Levy Goldberg is a native Miamian and holds a Master Degree in Public Administration from the University of Miami. Linda has parlayed her management background for the good of our community through philanthropy and leadership in a multitude of charitable activities. Pet rescue is close to Linda’s heart as she inherited her love of animals from her mother, Sylvia Carbonell Levy. The Goldberg’s are pet lovers and advocates.

What makes Miss Dixie unique? What attracted you to Miss Dixie? Miss Dixie is my Standard Poodle. She was adopted from Coastal Poodle Rescue. She came from an abused background so it took her a long time to learn how to play, but now she is a happy princess.

I have always had standard poodles. When my last poodle, Billy, died at the age of 14, I decided I wanted a rescue to join my other two rescue dogs.

Tell me about Miss Dixie: age, tricks, favorite treat, and favorite toy. Miss Dixie is a vivacious two year old poodle. Her favorite toy is my 10-year-old Dachshund. She is totally obsessed with him. She loves all treats and our other rescue, Lulu. Lulu has taught her to adore mangos. During mango season, they run out into the yard and see who can get the first mangos on the ground.

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? If I could be any animal, I would want to be a wild horse running free in the mountains. Horses are such noble animals, as are dogs. Unfortunately, for many domesticated animals, people do not realize how much is involved to provide them with the care and love they need to thrive. But, if you do care for them, they will be your best friend forever!

About Paws 4 You Rescue

Paws 4 You Rescue is a Miami-based non-profit 501(c)3, all volunteer, donor-subsidized animal rescue organization. Its top priority is to save animals from euthanasia at Miami-Dade Animal Services.

Rescued animals vary from being sick, injured, homeless and surrendered to simply lost. All animals are sterilized, vaccinated and ID micro-chipped to prevent future loss. Some require major surgery from a specialist to repair broken limbs while others may need additional rehabilitation time and specific medical care – ranging from respiratory illnesses and skin infections to cherry eyes and heartworm treatments.

Paws 4 You offers programs for adoption, fostering and senior citizens. Paws 4 You supports its mission by hosting numerous fundraising events throughout the year and through community donations.
