Please share with us how you first met Chicito? What made you decide to bring him home? I have two dogs: Precious Pearl Lozano, a four year old Japanese Chin and Chicito Lozano, a four year old tea cup from Bogotá, Colombia.

Chicito was a gift from Edgar’s family. He is only 3 pounds but has the bark of a large dog. He is my best guard dog and alerts us to every visitor. We got Chicito as a tribute to our Pookie, a Shih Tzu I rescued from an emergency situation. The breeder was very old and unable to care for the animals. Pookie lived 13 years with us and was my best dog ever. He was so loyal and was loved by all who knew him.

What’s your dog’s best quality? They love to play with each other and run around. They do cute little tricks and head movements to get attention. I love that Precious loves to be held and sit on my lap.

What’s an ordinary day like for your dog? Precious loves to go for jogs on the beach, riding in the convertible and shopping at Neiman’s. I always wanted a Japanese Chin because they are so smart. The best part is that they love boating on the bay.

About Paws 4 You Rescue

Paws 4 You Rescue is a Miami-based non-profit 501(c)3, all volunteer, donor-subsidized animal rescue organization. Its top priority is to save animals from euthanasia at Miami-Dade Animal Services.

Rescued animals vary from being sick, injured, homeless and surrendered to simply lost. All animals are sterilized, vaccinated and ID micro-chipped to prevent future loss. Some require major surgery from a specialist to repair broken limbs while others may need additional rehabilitation time and specific medical care – ranging from respiratory illnesses and skin infections to cherry eyes and heartworm treatments.

Paws 4 You offers programs for adoption, fostering and senior citizens. Paws 4 You supports its mission by hosting numerous fundraising events throughout the year and through community donations.
