David Christopher speaks to us in his own words
This week brings the Miami Improv Festival, a four-day showcase of the country’s best improvisational comedy troupes. Arriving from the likes of Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, these improvisers make up their shows in the moment based on audience suggestions. During the day, they’ll teach workshops. It all happens at Just The Funny theater on Coral Way, which is co-owned by Miamian and festival executive producer David Christopher. An improviser for two decades, Christopher performs on stages all over Miami and himself travels to teach and play theaters nationwide. He’s studied and performed – with famed ensembles including The Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade, iO, North Coast and The Groundlings. In the midst of this bustling week, we found Christopher and – with this snapshot – got a glimpse of this performer offstage.
