MODELING CAMP MIAMI

Modeling Camp Miami offers girls ages 12 to 18 the opportunity to experience the world of modeling and fashion. This exciting, empowering camp steps girls through a series of workshops, photo shoots and daily challenges with top industry professionals. Girls learn about modeling in a fun, non-competitive environment and walk away not only with the knowledge of how to get in to the industry but with valuable life skills that they can apply to their everyday life. The program culminates at the end of the four days with the option of meeting with top Miami agents and casting directors such as Elite, Ford, Michele Pommier and Wilhelmina Agency! MIAMI THEATER CENTER’S SUMMER CAMPS
Session 1: June 10 – July 3; Session 2: July 15 – August 9
Miami Theater Center’s talented company members will lead students, aged 6 to 12, on a fun-filled artistic adventure. MTC’s Summer Camp will give campers the opportunity to explore self-expression and work together to develop an original production for the camp’s final performance. Acting, music, dance, improvisation and theatre games will all be part of the programming offered in each of the two sessions. Camp runs June 10 through July 3 and Session 2 is from July 15 to August 9. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and lunch is provided. Cost is $800 per child per session with sibling discounts and full and partial scholarships available. A $25 registration fee applies.

ZOO MIAMI’S ZOOFARI SUMMER CAMP
June 17 – August 9
Zoo Miami is hosting Zoofari, a fun-filled, educational summer camp that offers a wide range of activities for campers 4 to 13 years old. Youngsters will be immersed into the world of wildlife through animal encounters, interaction with zookeepers, exciting games and the creation of special treats for zoo animals. Weekly themed interactive presentations involve animal biofacts, such as skulls, teeth and skins, and Banfield Pet Hospital FutureVets program presentations. Monorail trips, carousel rides, arts & crafts, playtime in the playgrounds are also included in the fun! Camp begins June 17 and runs through August 9. July 17 – August 2 is for campers 4 to 10; July 15 – August 2 is for 11 to 13 year-olds; and August 5 – 9 is for ages 4 to 8 only. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an 8:30 to 8:50 a.m. drop off. Pick up: 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. Extended care is available until 5:30 at an additional cost of $40/week. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided, but campers must bring their own lunches with drinks. Cost is $195 per week per child and $175 per week per child for Zoo Miami members.

FAIRCHILD GARDEN’S 2013 JUNIOR NATURALIST SUMMER CAMP
June 17 – July 26
Get ready for a great time at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s Junior Naturalist Summer Camp! Campers will explore the tropical flora and fauna of Fairchild Garden as they participate in fun outdoor environmental activities, carry out intresting experiments, create lovely garden crafts and play nature games. Campers will hunt for bugs, look for birds, dissect flowers, construct solar ovens and record observations while learning about South Florida’s ecosystems. After participating in this fun filled, hands-on camp, youngsters will be certified as “Junior Naturalists.” Six weekly sessions are planned, each with a different theme. Camp runs from June 17 to July 26, and sessions are available by the week as well. Each camp session is limited to 25 children, ages 6 through 12. Camp days begin at 9 a.m. and finish at 3 p.m. Cost is $165 for Fairchild members and $185 for non-members. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available.
