TEDxCoconutGrove Hosts 4th TEDx Conference
Ten Talented Speakers Explore the Meaning of Dreams
Consider the meaning of “dreams” through presentations of ten talented speakers at the upcoming 4th TEDx Conference hosted by TEDxCoconutGrove. Exploring the dream theme through a variety of interpretations, speakers will include Miami Theater Center’s co-founder Stephanie Ansin, YouTube sensation and motivational coach Dre Baldwin, CEO and founder of Lonesome George & Co Eudardo Balarezo and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sherman Fairchild Professor in Neuroscience Matt Wilson.
This year’s talks will be complemented with performances by spoken-word quartet Combat Hippies,
pianist Eric Lewis, and Latin combo Tiempo Libre. The evening will conclude with a Tasting Village with signature offerings from the area’s top restaurants like LoKal, Akashi, Harry’s Pizzeria, Bulla Gastrobar, Chef David Schwadron and Misha’s Cupcakes, to name a few.
TEDxCoconutGrove sets forth to engage our community in discussions of ideas, to expand
perspectives and to make a philanthropic impact. This event is independently organized under
license from TED, a non-profit organization that conducts an annual international conference in
Vancouver, British Columbia. In the spirit of ideas worth sharing, TED has created a program called TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At this TEDxCoconutGrove event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
TEDxCoconutGrove will host its conference at The Ransom Everglades School on Friday,
February 4, 2016, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Lewis Family Auditorium, 3575 Main Highway in Coconut
Grove. The general public is invited. Tickets are $50 for adults and $10 for students and are available online at http://tedxcoconutgrove.org.
